The island of Borneo is an evolutionary hotspot for Southeast Asian biodiversity and contains approximately 650 bird species, of which nearly 40 are endemic. Supported by the Global Genome Initiative (Smithsonian Institution), we produced a DNA barcode library by targeting a contact zone in Borneo where many bird species are thought to hybridize. This collection will improve our knowledge of birds from Borneo and contribute to the DNA barcode library.
