We propose a 150 ksec INTEGRAL observation simultaneous to a 100 ksec Astro E2 observation of thestrongly absorbed (NH=2E24) Galactic X-ray binary IGR J16318-4848. The aim of this proposal is toperform a detailed study of Compton thick X-ray absorption in neutral or weakly ionized material. We willsearch for the curvature in the continuum above 10 keV caused by Compton downscattering in the absorber.The INTEGRAL data will also be important for the Fe line study with Astro E2 by allowing us to determine theshape of the continuum responsible for the fluorescence.
