XMM spectroscopy of Type IIn supernovae

Type IIn supernovae (SNe IIn) are a heterogeneous class of supernovae. Neithertheir evolutionary status nor the origin of the tremendous mass loss from theirprogenitors are known. However, Xray observations combined with multiwavelengthstudies can constrain the progenitor systems and lead to a wealth of informationabout the surrounding medium, the ejecta density and the structure of SNe IIn.Here we propose to do the {it XMMNewton}EPIC Spectroscopy of one Expanded VeryLarge Array (EVLA) and/or {it Swift}XRT detected Type IIN supernova to unravelthe very nature of their environment. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
