Platform Terminal Transmitter data for Chinstrap Penguin (Pygoscelis antarcticus) fledglings from a colony in the Antarctic Peninsula.

In March 2025, 20 chinstrap penguins were tagged with Spot tags (Wildlife Computers) in Kopaitic Island (63.317ºS, 57.917ºW), Antarctic Peninsula, configured to transmit 50 pings per hour. Tags were attached to dorsal feathers using marine-grade epoxy and cable ties. Each tagged penguin had a minimum body mass of 3 kg to minimize the potential additive effect of tagging on mortality. Tagging followed standard procedures and methods approved by ethical evaluation (Krüger et al., 2024). Two PTT did not send any data. In the .csv file are the raw locations as downloaded from the Argos Platform, only locations with quality 1, 2, and 3.
