Gut Microbiota in Wild Passerine Birds

The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in host health, nutrition, and immunity, yet its composition and variation in wild bird species remain poorly understood. This study focuses on characterizing and comparing the gut microbial communities of wild passerine birds across different species, habitats, and life history traits. Passerines, being one of the most diverse and widespread bird orders, provide an excellent model to explore how factors such as diet, migration, phylogeny, and environment influence gut microbiota assembly.
