VPRS 18155 Register of Inward Correspondence

This series consists of volumes which provide information regarding all incoming correspondence received at Beechworth Hospital for the Insane and Beechworth/Mayday Hills Mental Hospital (VA 2842).As well as listing receipt of correspondence, the volumes also include the following information:- Reference number (annual sequential number)- Date received- From where received- Date of document- Nature of document (subject matter)- How disposed of.The Register of Inward Correspondence is in the form of large bound volumes. There is a gap in the date sequence which would presumably be filled by additional volumes which have not yet been located. The gap covers the period August 1956 to July 1964.In Volume 3, the disposal information has only been recorded occasionally.Some of the correspondence which the registers reference may be contained in VPRS 7524 Correspondence Files and VPRS 18158 Register of Inward Correspondence, Telegrams.
