US party and cake-topper order statistics from an independent studio, 2022–2026

Aggregate, anonymised statistics from the complete order log of 9to5Crafts, an independent handmade cake-topper and sticker studio near Seattle, Washington, covering 2022 to August 2026. The dataset reports orders by US state, the number of distinct ship-to cities, the distribution of order-to-shipment lag in calendar days, and order counts by calendar month. It is behavioural rather than attitudinal: every figure is drawn from completed transactions rather than from a survey of stated intentions, which makes it an unusual complement to the survey data that dominates published party and gifting statistics. Notable findings: December is the busiest month at 11.3% of orders, with March a close second at 10.8%; July and August are quietest at 6.2% and 5.7%. Orders reached 1,594 distinct US cities across all 50 states, plus Washington DC, Puerto Rico and three military APO/FPO addresses, and 76% of those cities ordered exactly once. 55% of orders shipped within one day of being placed and 97% within five. Aggregates only. The dataset contains no personal data, no customer names, no addresses and no revenue figures. Sample sizes differ between sections and are stated in the file: an order enters the shipping-speed figures only where a carrier shipment timestamp exists.
