Velocity data associated with Fall Midwater Travel Survey stations, upper San Francisco Estuary, 1980-2015

These data are estimates of the mean instantaneous tidal velocity (feet per second; difference between simulated and tide-filtered instantaneous velocity) at the time of Fall Midwater Trawl Survey sampling. This survey is managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. Estimates were developed by CH2MHill for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. As of August 2021, the Fall Midwater Trawl Survey is mandated by the Delta Smelt Biological Opinion for the coordinated operation of the Central Valley Project and the State Water Project, California.
