Seismic Waveform Dataset for Kappa (κ) Estimation in Northeast India

This dataset contains waveform data and associated metadata used in the study “Seismic Attenuation in North-East India: Estimation and Analysis of the Kappa (κ) Parameter.” The study investigates high-frequency seismic attenuation characteristics in Northeast India, a tectonically complex and seismically active region influenced by the Himalayan collision zone and the Indo–Burmese arc.The dataset includes three-component seismic waveform recordings corresponding to local earthquake events with magnitudes ranging approximately from Mw 2.8 to 5.8 and epicentral distances up to 400 km.The waveform data are provided in PASSCAL (miniSEED) format and can be accessed using standard seismological tools such as ObsPy.The dataset is provided by Pachhunga University College. Any reuse of these data, particularly for publication purposes, requires prior permission from the data provider.
