NRS-12392 | Registers of persons temporarily employed in the Public Service

These volumes are registers of persons temporarily employed in the Public Service under section 37 of the Public Service Act, 59 Vic. No.25. Vol.1, which covers the period 1896-1901, gives the following details: reference to papers, name of person employed, department, nature of employment and salary, date of appointment, period of service, date of termination of service and remarks. The remarks pertain to such things as retirement, further employment and resignations etc. A special section for persons employed under special agreements is included within each government department. The later volumes (3/1149-51) which cover the period 1902-11 include the same details as the above-mentioned volume. However, the arrangement has been altered to include a fuller description of the service given by each person, ie. extension of employment, date of termination of service, report as to performance of duties etc.(3/1148-51). 4 vols.
