Alternative polyadenylation (APA) was closely related to cancer progression and activation of oncogenes, but the evidence for APA-mediated carcinogenesis of cancer-related genes and the APA regulation mechanisms for causing specific cancers are not well characterized. Here, we profiled transcriptome-wide APA in 12 pairs of clinical colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues through high-throughput APA sequencing and found that shorter 3' UTRs are preferred in CRC tissues.
