iModEst: disentangling -omic impacts on gene expression variation across genes and tissues

Summary gene expression variance explained in terms of out-of-sample predictive accuracy based on leave-one-out predictive residual error sum of squares (PRESS R2), (PRESS R2= 1 - SSE/TSS). Intuitively, this represents the error variance in held out samples normalized by the variance of the data.
