Dataset: Teleseismic Shear Wave Splitting Measurements from Hi-net Stations in Japan

This dataset contains shear wave splitting measurements of teleseismic S phases recorded by the Japan Hi-net seismic network. It includes events from March 2004 to January 2020 with magnitudes (Mw) > 5.5 and focal depths > 60 km, covering a backazimuthal range of 120°–240° around Japan. The shear wave splitting analysis was conducted using the SplitLab software, available from Wüstefeld et al. (2008). These measurements accompany the paper titled 'Prediction of Complex Observed Shear Wave Splitting Patterns at the Ryukyu Subduction Zone Using a Strong Intra-slab Anisotropy Model', published in Geophysical Research Letters (GRL).
