Jan Patočka: la fenomenologia asoggettiva

This paper deals with the question of subjectivity in the thought of Husserl’s later disciple, the Czech phenomenologist Jan Patočka, in its connection to the concepts of “life-world”, “movement” and “epoché”. Although Patočka’s reflection is developed in continuity with and under the influence of Husserlian analyses, he moves beyond Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology and theorizes a “heretical” version of it. The new philosophical approach, called “a-subjective phenomenology”, represents his most relevant attempt to renew phenomenological research. It doesn’t eliminate the role of the subject in the phenomenal sphere, but supports the reflection on a strong and open subjectivity able to manifest being.
