A field-based mesocosm experiment to investigate how plant communities moderate belowground response top drought. Treatments consisted of different dominant species and levels of evenness of four common grassland species, which were subjected to a drought. Drought and control responses of plant communities, soil microbial communities, and ecosystem processes were sampled over time (before drought, at the end of the drought, one week recovery, two months recovery). This study/project contains the predominantly 16S bacterial amplicons.
