桉树(Eucalyptus)原产澳大利亚及其附近的一些岛屿,是世界三大人工造林树种和著名的速生丰产树种之一,全世界有100多个国家和地区引种栽培桉树,中国是引种栽培桉树最成功的国家之一,截止2014年全国桉树人工林面积已超过400万hm2,桉树人工林面积排全球第3位。本书着重讨论我国部分地区人工林培育的现状和存在问题,进而提出改善的建议。人工林培育的关键是用森林培育理论全面的理解人工林管理,提高森林质量和多功能效益。盲目的追求经济效益是不符合可持续发展的要求,必然导致森林质量下降。必须遵循自然规律进行集约经营,提高产量。强调因地制宜、适地适树是关键。对桉树的种植发展具有重要的理论和实践价值。
Eucalyptus, native to Australia and its adjacent islands, is one of the world's three major artificially afforested tree species and a renowned fast-growing and high-yield tree species. Eucalyptus has been introduced and cultivated in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, and China is among the most successful countries in this regard. As of 2014, the total area of Eucalyptus plantations in China had exceeded 4 million hectares, ranking third globally. This book focuses on discussing the current status and existing problems of plantation cultivation in some regions of China, and further puts forward improvement suggestions. The core of plantation cultivation is to comprehensively understand plantation management using forest cultivation theories, so as to improve forest quality and multi-functional benefits. Blind pursuit of economic benefits runs counter to the requirements of sustainable development and will inevitably lead to a decline in forest quality. It is necessary to follow the laws of nature to conduct intensive management and increase yield. Emphasizing adapting measures to local conditions and matching tree species to suitable sites is the key. This book holds important theoretical and practical value for the planting and development of Eucalyptus.
