Replication package for "Counted but Not Priced: Counting and Pricing in Mandated Workforce Disclosure"

Replication package for a study of how US-listed firms state workforce information in the annual report. Within each of 1,823 10-K filings from 344 large US firms (2021–2026), two non-overlapping passages about the same workforce are compared: the mandated human capital section under Item 101(c)(2)(ii), and passages in which the same report discusses labour costs. Every sentence is scored twice — does it carry a figure, and is that figure a sum of money. Contains extraction and analysis code (Python and R), the constructed firm-year panel, cached passages for all 1,823 filings, the human coding instrument with two independent rounds and adjudication, all results files including prespecified analyses that returned nulls, and the manuscript's tables and supplement. Every figure reported in the paper can be reproduced from this package. Author identifiers have been removed for anonymous peer review; the SEC EDGAR User-Agent string must be replaced with your own contact before re-running retrieval.
