Response Areas State

State and Local Responsibility Areas for wildfire containment. State and Local Emergency Response Area polygons. Attributes: SRA = State Responsibility Area. State has primary responsibility for suppression of wildfire. Local fire agency would still be responsible for structural protection. LRA = Local Responsibility Area. Local fire agency has primary responsibility for both wildfire suppression and structural protection. This data is a combination of the State Responsibility Areas and the Fire Hazard Severity Zones (links below). There was only Fire Hazard within the SRA, so for the FRA(Federal Response Area), the adjacent fire hazard was assigned. The FHSZ within the LRA was updated in July of 2025 to reflect the data from Cal Fire FHSZLRA25_Phase2_v1 data (February 2025). This is an update of the April 1st 2024 data to include the FHSZ in the LRA. The effective date of this SRA and LRA boundary data is April 1st, 2024, and is a replacement of the 2007 data which can be found in the GIS database achieve.
