We propose to explore in situ high-pressure DAC synthesis of novel metal-noble-gas complexes and unprecedented high-oxidation-state metal fluorides by a laser-heating-induced decomposition of extremely potent fluorinators XeF4, XeF6 and KrF+ salts. This research could provide first examples of: Xe coordination to Ag, Ir, Pt cations; coordination of Kr to a metal cation; first crystal structure of organometallic noble-gas complex; and novel high oxidation-state metal fluorides of Ag, Ir, and Au.
