Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) National Science Foundation Camera (NSFCAM) Image Data from the Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL9) Impact with Jupiter

This archive contains images of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL9) fragments pre-impact and the Jovian rings post-impact taken using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) National Science Foundation Camera (NSFCAM). NSFCAM is a 256x256 Indium Antimonide (InSb) array with a variety of observing modes including imaging, polarimetry, and low-resoltuion grism spectroscopy. Plate scales of 0.3 arcseconds, 0.15 arcseconds, and 0.06 arcseconds are achieved with the 3-meter infrared IRTF telescope.
