资源简介:

This dataset contains quantitative measurements of the volume of gas and liquid produced during the stepwise depressurization of pressure core whole round sections to atmospheric pressure (quantitative degassing, core processing code QD). These volumes were used to calculate dissolved methane concentration and hydrate saturation. Pressure cores were cut in PCATS and transferred to pressure core chambers. These chambers were depressurized slowly while produced gas and water volumes were tracked over the course of dissociation, and the gas composition was analyzed. The pressure before and after each step was noted. The total amount of gas produced and remaining in the chamber were used to calculate the dissolved methane concentration and gas hydrate saturation. See Expedition UT-GOM2-2 Methods: Quantitative Degassing (Flemings et al., 2025a, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13971228) The final processed data is documented in Appendix I, of Expedition UT-GOM2-2 Site H (Flemings et al., 2025b, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13971276). The attached readme file, previewed below, describes all the data files in this dataset and their contents. The readme file also contains links to where the data is presented in the expedition proceedings. Additional data you might expect to find in this dataset can instead be found at the following locations: The sample depths can be found in the curation dataset (http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14926309). Download the file UT-GOM2-2 CORE LOG depths – sortable.xlsx, see tab “Section-piece log” core processing code “QD”. Gas samples were captured during quantitative degassing. Gas composition can be found in the gas geochemistry dataset (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15626975).
