As the State Flower of California, Eschscholzia californica is a charismatic species abundant in many different habitat types. This annual (or short-lived perennial) herbaceous species is likely to reflect contemporary rates of gene flow, making it a potentially important species for identifying areas where generalist pollinators can (and can't) facilitate gene flow among populations separated by physical barriers (such as highways).. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
