Raw data included in the manuscript "<b>Bumblebees socially learn behaviours too </b><b>complex to </b><b>innovate</b><b> alone</b>" (previously published as a preprint "<b>Social learning of a challenging two-step action sequence fulfils </b><b>key</b><b> criteria of cumulative culture in an insect</b>"; <b>d</b><b>oi:</b> https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.08.29.555358).Dataset includes the raw data for the dyad experiments as two csv files (one showing the overall data for each dyad, one showing data for each joint foraging session for every dyad) and a further five csv files containing the data underlying the figures presented in the manuscript. Details of both can be found below.<b>RAW DATA</b>Contained in two csv files compiling all data obtained during the dyad experiments: one showing the overall data for each dyad, one showing data on following behaviour for each joint foraging session for every dyad.Full methodological details are available in the manuscript. <b>Overall data</b>For each dyad, the following information is provided:DemoID, demonstrator ID; ObsID, observer ID.Class: determined by a combination of demonstrator technique preference and observer learning test outcome. Dyads fell into one of three categories: "squeezing-pass", "squeezing-fail" and "staggered-fail". No. of sessions: number of joint foraging sessions undergone by the dyad.DemoOpenIncidence: the number of times the demonstrator opened a two-step box during the joint foraging sessionsDemoIndex: DemoOpenIncidence / No. of sessions, allowing comparisons between dyads that ran for different lengths of time.SoloForage OpenIncidence: the number of times an observer opened a two-step box during the post-learning test solo foraging sessions.OfWhich"Squeezing": the number of times the observer used the "squeezing" technique to open a two-step box during the post-learning test solo foraging sessions.
