Soil selenium shapes microbial bacterial structure in culti-vated soils

Selenium-rich soils are a valuable natural resource of critical importance to agriculture and human health. Soil microorganisms play a key role in the selenium biogeochemical cycle. Characterizing microbial communities in selenium-rich soils will thus further green agricultural development goals and enhance the efficiency with which natural soil selenium resources are utilized. In this study, the primer pairs 27F/1492R were used to amplify the bacterial 16S rRNA gene and , respectively, from field-collected cultivated soil samples.
