Dataset: Mortality from acute myocardial infarction in Brazil, 2015–2024 (DATASUS and IBGE)

This dataset contains aggregated data used in the study “Mortality from acute myocardial infarction in Brazil: temporal trends and regional inequalities, 2015–2024”. Data were obtained from publicly available sources, including the Mortality Information System (SIM) from DATASUS and population estimates from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The dataset includes the number of deaths from acute myocardial infarction (ICD-10 code I21) by year, sex, age group, region, education level, and place of occurrence, covering the period from 2015 to 2024. Population data were used to calculate mortality rates and age-standardized rates. All data were extracted, processed, and organized by the authors using the TabNet system. This dataset represents the analytical dataset used for statistical analysis in the study. No individual-level data are included. All data are aggregated and publicly available.
