资源简介:
arge-scale disasters such as earthquakes that cause widespread damage have repeatedly occurred in Japan. Following large-scale disasters, school buildings and gymnasiums have been taken advantage of as evacuation shelters, with many evacuees being forced to live for extended periods of time in a crowded condition. Due to lack of chairs or proper beds, evacuees are prone to back pain or sleep disorders from sitting down or lying on the floor at night. In addition, it has been suggested that evacuees’ poor sleep, mental stress, or fatigue caused by the inferior living environment of evacuation shelters may lead to disaster-related disease or death. In Japan, cardboard beds are often provided to evacuees in shelters as their heat insulating effect and respiratory benefits have been indicated by previous research. However, results of the present study revealed weaknesses in relation to the body pressure distribution of this device, and our findings may contribute to providing base evidence on healthy life for future evacuees.
