ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DE INICIATIVAS DE AVALIAÇÃO DE BIBLIOTECAS – POSSIBILIDADES DE MEDIÇÃO DO IMPACTO ECONÔMICO

RESUMO: Este trabalho tem como objetivo mapear e avaliar propostas de avaliação de bibliotecas, priorizando conhecer o seu impacto econômico. Buscou-se identificar quais destas metodologias poderiam ser adaptadas à realidade brasileira, além de considerar modelos avaliativos que foram realizados no Brasil. Diante da realidade desafiadora a que tais ambientes estão inseridos, considera-se as inúmeras mudanças advindas do processo de globalização e o avanço tecnológico como processos desencadeadores para a validação de espaços tidos como equipamentos culturais. Sem dúvida tais mudanças colocam em evidência áreas do conhecimento que se dedicam à informação e a comunicação, consequentemente trazendo às bibliotecas novos estímulos no que diz respeito ao gerenciamento, controle, disseminação da informação e principalmente um novo olhar para as demandas sociais. Sendo assim, é importante validar a utilização destes espaços e justificar sua existência e manutenção com base em seu valor social e econômico, visando legitimar sua importância e justificando os investimentos realizados para que se possa atender de maneira exemplar as demandas atuais da comunidade em que se inserem. Com base na análises comparativas realizadas foi possível identificar padrões tanto nacionais quanto internacionais deixando evidências claras sobre como as bibliotecas são vistas pela comunidade e qual tem sido o direcionamento dado a estes espaços. Entretanto, deve-se questionar qual o real papel das bibliotecas no contexto atual e realizar projeções que além de dialogar com a sociedade torne possível propor novas demandas para que as bibliotecas de fato se estabeleçam como instituições de relevante impacto social. *************************************************************************************************** ABSTRACT This paper aims to map and evaluate proposals for library evaluation, prioritizing the identification of initiatives that calculate the economic impact of these institutions. We sought to identify methodologies previously applied in other countries that could be adapted to the Brazilian reality, as well as considering initiatives at the national level. Faced with the challenging reality to which these environments are inserted, we consider the innumerable changes brought about by the globalization process and the technological advance as triggering processes for the validation of spaces considered as cultural equipment. Undoubtedly, these changes highlight areas of knowledge that are dedicated to information and communication, consequently bringing new stimuli to the libraries with respect to the management, control, dissemination of information and, above all, a new look at social demands. Therefore, it is important to validate the use of these spaces and justify their existence and maintenance based on their social and economic value, in order to legitimize their importance and justify the investments made so that it can meet the current demands of the community in which they are inserted. Based on comparative analyze, it was possible to identify national and international standards, techniques and methods for evaluating how the libraries are viewed by the community, their cultural, social and economic impact and what has been the direction given to these equipments.
