<b>chromosome-level genome assembly </b><b>of the mud carp (</b><b><i>Cirrhinus molitorella</i></b><b>)</b>

We constructed high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of <i>C. molitorella</i> using PacBio sequencing and Hi-C data. The evolutionary history of <i>C. molitorella</i> was studied by inferring dynamic changes of ancestral population sizes. The genetic basis of adaptation in <i>C. molitorella</i> was dissected by performing gene family expansion and contraction analyses and identifying positively selected genes (PSGs). This provides the basis for the ecological adaptability of <i>C. molitorella</i>.
