Tsunami waves propagation and run-up in the Baltic Sea

The dataset contains results of numerical modeling of tsunami wave propagation in the Baltic Sea and run-up at selected coastal locations. The data constitute a supplementary material for the article entitled "Modeling of tsunami waves in the southern Baltic Sea" by Ryszard Staroszczyk and Maciej Paprota. The article is currently submitted to the Earthquake Spectra journal. There are two files in the folder: waves.zip contains: eta_ - values of free-surface elevation in meters at grid points covering the Baltic Sea basin for 16 tsunami scenarios generated at faults A-D due to quakes of magnitude 7 and 8 at fault sides a and b in folders <fault><magnitude><fault_side>; each folder contains 50 eta_ files corresponding to subsequent time instants of tsunami wave propagation calculated every 5 minutes (file eta_00001 corresponds to the initial water surface displacement at the moment of eqrthquake); The values are arranged in an 750x660 array with rows corresponding to the same latitude East and colums corresponding to the same longitude North, the spacing between nodes is 2' and 1' for longitude and latitude, respectively; the grid is consistent with the IOW Baltic bathymetry grid (Seifert et al. 2001); sta_ - run-up values at selected coastal sites for 16 tsunami scenarios generated at faults A-D due to quakes of magnitude 7 and 8 at fault sides a and b in folders <fault><magnitude><fault_side>; each folder contains 10 sta_ files. The values are arranged in a four-column array, in which the first column corresponds to time after earthquake in seconds, while the second column represents the run-up height in meters at the coastal station. Two remaining columns are not of importance for the present dataset. coastal_sites contsins a list of sites of interest, where the run-up is calculated (sta_ files); columns are: site latitude, site longitude, site name.
