资源简介:
Black rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii), belonging to Scorpaenidae, widely distributes the coastal waters of China, Japan, and Korea . Efforts for stock enhancement by releasing the juvenile has been made since 1980s. Many studies has been carried out on its viviparous breeding habits and aquaculture values . Black rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii), as one example species of Sebastes, fertilize internal and give birth to free-living fish. Copulation occurs in November and December while fertilization completes in April, so sperm will be preserved within female’s body for almost six months. This phenomenon of sperm storage is typically found in animals in which the time of mating does not synchronize with the time of ovulation in the female. Although it is reported in several taxa for insects , reptiles, birds and mammals, the mechanism has yet to be fully elucidated.
