Genotypic Characterisation of Environmental Vibrio species Isolated in Ireland in 2020

Vibrio infections in Ireland have recently met a notable significant increase, sparking further investigation into the potential of Vibrio species as an emerging pathogen in this country. Recent publications have shown the increased rates of clinical vibriosis reported in Northern Europe, likely due to global sea warming and encouraging proliferation of aquatic Vibrio populations. This study focused on investigating the phenotypic and genotypic traits of two environmental Vibrio species isolated in Ireland in 2020.
