this study investigated the toxic effects and potential mechanisms of acute and chronic low-concentrations of PFHxA (1000 ng/L) exposure on large yellow croaker. Histopathological analysis revealed that prolonged PFHxA exposure led to severe morphological damage in liver and intestinal tissues. Transcriptomic analysis identified differentially expressed genes associated with lipid metabolism, immune response, and cell death pathways.
