<p>3D scan of a Southern stout-legged moa (<em>Euryapteryx curtus gravis</em>) skeleton from the Holocene. Moas are extinct birds that lived on New Zealand. This skeleton was donated to the museum by Dr. Julius Ritter von Haast in 1884. This almost complete skeleton was probably built from more than one
specimen. It was collected and gifted to the NHM Vienna by Dr. Julius
Ritter von Haast, a geologist and paleontologist, who was the founder of
the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand. This specimen was most probably a male.</p>
