This dataset accompanies the study “Neuronal microexons modulate arousal via the cAMP-PKA-CREB pathway in zebrafish” (Mackensen et al., 2026) and provides the code and data required to reproduce the analyses and figures presented in the manuscript. The data were generated to investigate how disruption of neuronal microexon splicing (via loss of the splicing regulator srrm3) affects arousal regulation in larva zebrafish (Danio rerio). The dataset integrates multiple experimental modalities across scales, including: High-throughput behavioural tracking (DanioVision) for sleep/wake and activity analysis High-resolution swim kinematics analysis Two-photon calcium imaging for neuronal activity analysis Hybridization chain reaction (HCR) imaging for spatial gene expression Bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, and ATAC-seq from FACS-sorted elavl3:GFP+ populations Pharmacological perturbation experiments targeting cAMP signalling All analysis code is organized by figure and includes the required input data to reproduce the results. Larger datasets (e.g. behavioural tracking, calcium imaging, HCR imaging) are provided as separate archives. Raw sequencing data are available via GEO under accession number GSE295724.
