资源简介:
This dataset contains photographs of written pronominal and verbal subject-marking paradigms provided by Henop Dey (born 1943), a native speaker of Batta. Paradigms are provided for the following verbs: 'to walk', 'to eat (intr.)', '(to come) from where', 'to sit', 'to drink water', 'to stand', 'to want to go over there', 'to come here', 'to come/arrive', 'to go home', 'to sleep', 'to laugh', and 'to follow'. There is no audio recording associated with this dataset; two photographs of Henop Dey (one with the researcher) are provided. All photographs were taken on 16 December 2019, in Yenenas village (Batanta island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh. Further deposits are available in the related DataShare sub-community (https://datashare.ed.ac.uk/handle/10283/8573).
