Metagenome and metatranscriptome data of rumen microbe

The rumen of ruminants is a competitive environment for multiple microorganisms, and the ability to degrade carbohydrates provides a competitive advantage to certain microbiota. Herein, we applied genome-resolved metagenomics and metatranscriptomics CAZymes data to evaluate the nutrition niche differentiation of rumen ciliate. We found that nearly half of the CAZymes in the genome were expressed, and gene expression depended on gene abundance.
