Coat colour and candidate pigmentation-gene genotypes in two local horse breeds

Objectively measured CIELAB coat colour at five body regions and genotypes at 9 924 SNPs from ten candidate pigmentation regions and ten size-matched control regions, for 60 horses of the Bosnian Mountain Horse and the Slovenian Posavje Horse. The dataset accompanies a study of how much continuous coat-colour variation can be predicted from candidate pigmentation genes, benchmarked against a matched control panel. Horse identifiers are anonymised. Version 3 corrects one colour reading (horse H005, axillary L*, second reading 44.9 instead of 4.9) and adds the analysis code, the ASIP and MC1R genotypes and the submitted results.See README.txt for full documentation of the files, variables and methods.
