资源简介:

This study was devoted to determining the functional relationship between placental morphometric parameters (mass, surface area, and volume) and fetal birth weight in pregnancies complicated by macrosomia. A comparative clinical observation was conducted between macrosomia and physiological pregnancy groups. According to the results, in cases of macrosomia, placental mass increased on average by 15–17%, surface area by 18–22%, and volume by 14–16%. Correlation analysis demonstrated a moderate relationship between placental volume and fetal weight (r=0.52), and between placental mass and fetal weight (r=0.49). However, in some cases, a small placenta with a large fetus and a large placenta with normal birth weight were observed. These findings confirm that the functional efficiency of the placenta is more important than its morphometric size.
