Red mud assisted anaerobic digestion of swine manure

In this study, RM was added as the batch mode swine manure digestion system with different doses. Utilizing metagenomics, we characterized the microbial community and viral community in the anaerobic digestion containing red mud. The present study aim to unveil the mechanism of red mud enhancing methane production in swine AD at the genetic level, determine the effectiveness of red mud in alleviating ammonia nitrogen inhibition, and compare the changes in the functions of viruses in ammonia nitrogen metabolism and methane production before and after adding red mud. The findings of this study are anticipated to offer a novel insight into the utilization of red mud for AD of swine manure.
