资源简介:

These data were part of a cross-sectional study that aimed to describe the association between oral human papillomavirus (alpha-HPV and beta-HPV) infection and the oral and oropharyngeal microbiome in Mexican people living with HIV with sustained virologic control and immune reconstitution. These represented 16S rDNA gene sequencing data. The study demonstrated that HPV infections were associated with distinct oral microbial ecosystems, characterized by significantly increased alpha diversity compared to HPV-negative individuals. Notably, the α-HPV positive group exhibited the highest diversity, an elevated Fusobacteriota/Bacteroidota ratio, enrichment of Fusobacteriota-related taxa, and predicted functional enrichment of pathways related to lysine and pyruvate fermentation to butyrate. Detailed methodological information and findings were described in Vizcaíno-Reséndiz et al., 2026 (Microorganisms, XXX).
