This series is the registers of fines and forfeitures imposed by Sydney and Country Quarter Sessions.These are hand written bound volumes arranged in chronological order according to date the papers were received by the Clerk of Peace. There is an alphabetical index at the front of each register. Each entry contains the following information: date papers received by Clerk of the Peace; where from and from whom; court and date of court at which fine imposed or Estreat ordered, or after which forfeiture included in roll; nature and particulars of forfeiture; name and address of principal and surety; amount of forfeiture; date included in copy of roll sent with writ to Sheriff; order of court of Sheriff’s return to writ; section taken thereon and when.
