Sort-seq random and genomic DNA with and without mutations

This dataset contains high-throughput sequencing reads from assays measuring promoter activity in Escherichia coli. The library consists of 17,129 synthetic random DNA sequences and 91,866 genomic DNA fragments from the E. coli K-12 MG1655 genome. Promoter activity was quantified for each sequence using dual fluorescent reporters (GFP and RFP). Additionally, the effects of 584,473 single-nucleotide mutations in 225 random and 60 genomic parent sequences were assayed. These data were generated to compare the emergence and properties of de-novo promoters from random versus genomic DNA. See Github repository for details.
