资源简介:
The associated factors of environmental B. pseudomallei data set was comprised of bacterial culture results for B. pseudomallei (positive/negative), soil physicochemical properties and location information (GPS coordinates, province, region and country). Sixty one rice field located in 61 villages from the East (19), Central (21) and Northeast (21) Thailand were randomly selected. Soil was sampled in the dry season (April-June) in 2013, 2014, 2015. We used the consensus guidelines for environmental sampling described by the Detection of Environmental Burkholderia pseudomallei Working Party (DEBWorP) (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23556010). We recorded the location of sampled fields using the EpiCollect application (www.epicollect.net, Imperial College, London). In each rice field, gird of 10x10 grid (2.5m apart) was plotted to generate 100 sampling points. We collected 20 grams of soil, 10g for culture for B. pseudomallei and another 10g was for soil physiochemical properties tests. Then we pooled and mixed soil from all 100 sampling points together to get 1kg of soil and sent for soil properties analysis to iLab Asia (Kanchanaburi, Thailand) and Central Laboratory (Bangkok, Thailand). All 100 soil samples from each rice field were cultured for B. pseudomallei. The simplified culture method for isolation of B. pseudomallei from soil was used (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22101048). The positive rice field is the field that at least one sample was positive for the B. pseudomallei. The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University (MUTM2013-021-01) and the Oxford Tropical Research Ethics Committee, University of Oxford (OXTREC 1013-13). Each row represents presence of B. pseudomallei and soil characteristics per sampled site.  The database contains the following fields: SITE_ID: Unique identifier for sampling site CULTURE_BPS: Bacterial culture result for B. pseudomallei from soil in rice fields POS_POINTS_BPS: Number of sampling points per field which were positive for B. pseudomallei.
