Whole-genome analysis of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine and 5-methylcytosine at base resolution in the mouse brain

The study provides new insights into how 5mC/5hmC vary across different part of brain, and the association and distinct roles of 5mC/5hmC in regulating tissue identity and specification. Examination of hydroxymethylomes of mouse cortex, olfactory bulb and cerebellum tissues,as well as methylomes and allele-specific transcriptomes of the same tissues本研究为5-甲基胞嘧啶(5-methylcytosine, 5mC)/5-羟甲基胞嘧啶(5-hydroxymethylcytosine, 5hmC)在大脑不同区域的变化规律，以及二者在调控组织身份与特化过程中的关联及独特功能提供了全新见解。研究对小鼠皮层、嗅球与小脑组织的羟甲基化组，以及上述相同组织的甲基化组和等位基因特异性转录组进行了检测分析。
