Census of Wholesale Trade, 1977: Geographic Area Series

<p>This data collection contains summary statistics for whosesalers, including merchant whoesalers, manufacturers' sales branches and offices, as well as agents, brokers, and commission merchants with one or more paid employees. File WA1 shows the number of establishments, sales, end-of-year inventories, operating expenses, payroll, and number of paid employees by type of operation and kind of business. File WA2 has comparative information for 1972 and 1977 on sales per establishment, sales per employee, payroll per employee, annual payroll as a percent of operating expenses, and end-of-year inventories as a percent of sales. File WA3 was not released. File WA4 contains data on the number of establishments, sales, payroll, and paid employees for week of March 12 for all wholesale establishments by type of operation. File WA5 provides sales and payroll ratio data by type of operation. File WA6 has data on end-of-year inventories, operating expenses, and first quarter payroll by type of operation. File WA7 has the same information as File WA4 for all counties and for cities of 2,500 inhabitants or more ranked by volume of sales. File WA8 also contains same information as WA4 by two-, three-, and four-digit Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes. File WA9 also provides the same information as File WA4 arranged in alphabetical order by counties and by cities with 2,500 inhabitants or more within State. File WA10 contains comparative data for 1972 and 1977 on the number of establishments, sales, and payroll by type of operation and kind of business.</p>
