Data supporting: Spatial structural diversity complements size structural diversity in explaining forest above-ground biomass

This dataset supports the manuscript “Spatial structural diversity complements size structural diversity in explaining forest above-ground biomass”. The study used forest inventory data from 104 plots in a mature subtropical forest in Qingyunshan Nature Reserve, Guangdong Province, southern China. Size structural diversity was characterized using three diameter-based indices, and spatial structural diversity using neighbourhood species mingling and size differentiation. The analyses examined their associations with above-ground biomass and compared their explanatory contributions and mediating roles in linking species richness, stand density and environmental conditions to biomass.
