The Indian private equity and venture capital (PE/VC) segment recorded over 49 billion U.S. dollars from 853 deals in 2023. Global headwinds and investmentsThe drop in investor sentiment since 2022 can be attributed to global headwinds like geopolitical conflict in Ukraine impacting supply chains, rising inflation and interest rate hikes. In India, the biggest impact on PE/VC investments was seen in terms of reduction of large ticket investments.
