Genome assembly of the sea turtle Eretmochelys imbricata

<i>Eretmochelys imbricata</i> are found mainly in the tropical regions of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. However, in the western hemisphere, they have been reported to have nests as far north as Woods Hole, Massachusetts. They are also present in the Long Island Sound. However, between the Carolinas and New Jersey, very few hawksbill turtles have been recorded. In this study we report the genomic sizes for haplotype-separated chromosome-scale assemblies for <i>E. imbricata</i> are ~2.2 Gb, with contig N50 ~80 Mb. The annotated genes are 25,692 and 25,792 for Haploype 1 and Haplotype 2, respectively.
