Ticks metagenomics for evolutionary studies

The metagenomic sequencing of total DNA from ticks is an essential source of genomic information not just for the own tick knowledge but also for microorganisms associated with them. Esta information genomic is used to generate solid evolutionary frameworks, using probabilistic methods, that allow us better understand distribution patterns, the origin of the diversification, and the potential abiotic and biotic events associated with the generation of the diversity of the microorganisms (such as the symbionts, the pathogens) and their vectors/reservoirs.
