Members of the wing-patterning network [2, 57] known to be associated with a specific signaling pathway are shown in the grey row [5, 9, 58, 59, 67–72]. Genes identified in the M. caerulatus transcriptome are shown by bold; while the corresponding amino acid sequences and unigene IDs are given in S4 File and a description of primary gene functions are in the S1 Table. Genes that could not be identified in the M. caerulatus transcriptome are shown in black font.
